Get to know the Vikings voyages, their arts and crafts, and how society changed throughout the Viking Age. The Vikings are known as violent and merciless warriors, but they were also farmers, skilled craftsmen, and traders. The exhibition VÍKINGR showcases famous and exquisite artifacts representing various aspects of life, death, and society.
We will also take a peek into the exhibition NOREGR, which tells the story of how Norway changed from the Viking Age to the Middle Ages. See artifacts collected from the latest excavations here in Oslo and discover stories about the Norwegian Middle Ages rarely shared.
Practical information
The guided tours are conducted in English and last for 30 minutes. They are included in the museum ticket and do not require registration.
Please note that only personal attendance ensures a place on the tour; it operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and is limited to 35 participants. Pre-purchased museum tickets do not guarantee participation.
