Perceive color in new ways

Join us at this one-day exhibit where demonstrators use hybrid technology, such as virtual reality and soundscapes, to show how you can experience color and artwork in new ways.

The famous painting "Scream" by Edvard Munch

Engage with demonstrators revealing secrets of color from ancient Romans to our present society. Witness how heritage scientists keep the past accessible to you using hybrid technology. Experience kinetic sculptures, immersive books, VR immersive experience, soundscape featuring screaming inspired by Munch’s famous painting ‘The Scream’ and a time machine transporting you back and forward in time – all in a single day!

Join us at the Historical Museum as we host this one-day exhibit. This is a unique opportunity to explore artwork through different senses including sight, touch and hearing, presented in five different scenarios as created by scientists, educators, and artists.

The exhibit is part of the research project “Perceive”, funded by the European Union along with government funding from the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The project aims to create a new way to perceive, preserve, curate, exhibit, understand, and access colored cultural heritage collections and digital artworks.
